Can I name the same person as guardian for my children and trustee of the testamentary trust for minor children?

Yes, you may name the same person to serve as the guardian and the trustee. However, this is not recommended in situations where you believe the guardian might not be able to manage and distribute the trust for your minor children according to the process that you have set out in the Will. For example, some guardians may have the parenting attributes that you would want for your children, but may not be great at handling financial matters. Selecting the guardian and the trustee to name in your Will is a personal decision based on the individuals that are available to you to serve in both capacities.
